Creating single question conversation for email

Instead of sending your customers a link to a conversation (survey) with multiple question, you may want to ask them a single close-ended question right in the email. You can build this conversation in Oomiji's Understand section and then embed it in the email in the Engage section.

Here are the steps you will need:

Click on the Create Conversation dropdown and click on Conversation for Email.

This Create Conversation page is similar to the regular conversation builder but has limited options since questions in email can only be closed-ended. If you want the question to be answered right within the email, you must use any single-action type of question, such as rating, select one, or yes/no. You can use checkbox question type, but the customer will only be able to select one response in the email and they will need to complete the conversation in a web browser.

If you want to collect information that you want to append to the customer's record, you can map it to the correct contact field right when you build the question.

Save and test the conversation to make sure that it looks and works as you expect.

Now head to the Engage section and create a new template. You can copy an existing template if you already have one built that you like. From the Conversation dropdown, select the conversation you created, and then click on Copy Embed HTML. Then click on the HTML content button.

Replace the "hello world" placeholder text with the HTML code you copied. A preview of the question will appear in the email editor. You can edit the appearance of the question by editing the HTML in the embedded code.

Now save your email, test it, make sure it looks and works as you expect, and then you can send it out. All engagement metrics will be recorded in the Engage section, the question responses will be in the Understand section, and if you mapped the question to a database field, you will be able to see the responses collected on the Contacts dashboard.
